Jefferson County Sheriff Lafayette Woods Jr., said Tuesday that while he has been in law enforcement for a long time, he has never seen conditions as tense as they are right now.

Woods appeared on the Oldies 101.3 morning show and said it is getting difficult to recruit new officers, particularly now.

As far as the calls to defund police departments, Woods called it ridiculous.
