Watershed-Improvement Project Community Meeting at the Pine Bluff Convention Center

Thursday the Arkansas Black Mayors Association held a community meeting at the Pine Bluff Convention Center to address flooding and also the drainage system. The Watershed Improvement Project is geared towards addressing and resolving the city’s issues with flooding and drainage. The U.S. Department of Agriculture invested $32 million through the National Resources and Conservation Service to reduce flood risks in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.  Flooding has been an issue within the city of Pine Bluff for the past 100 years, but the input from various political figures and also Pine Bluff citizens proved to be just a testament as to how this can improve the quality of life and well-being of those who live in Pine Bluff.

Rep. Vivian Flowers of District 65 had remarks on the Watershed Improvement Project and also the collective effort to make sure the community as a whole can benefit from it.
