This is the second of two stories on AR Kids Read, a program to help elementary school students improve their reading skills.
On Wednesday, Kathy French talked about the program, prompting Oldies 1013 Morning Show host Greg Horne to ask if volunteers were actually helping kids to decode words or if they were just reading to the kids.
Earlier French mentioned that it was vitally important for kids to be able to read by the third grade and she was asked about that.
