UAPB Volleyball Dominates Lane College 3-1; Back-to-Back Home Wins
PINE BLUFF, AR – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff volleyball team needed just four sets (25-12, 23-25, 25-9, 25-9, 25-9) to knock off the Lane Dragons Wednesday at home at H.O. Clemmons Arena.
The Lady Lions were led by a double-double from Zykia Jones, who registered 14 kills and 11 digs on the day. Ariyonna Edmond also added seven kills to help the offense. Lyla Jones also pitched in with six in the contest. On the defensive end, Camille Johnson chipped in for with 15 digs to go with four blocks from Laila Fortson.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Lions took control of the set-one lead at 3-2 and held the lead the rest of the way to win 25-12. UAPB opened up its biggest lead, 13 points, to close out the set. UAPB also supplemented their offense with five aces in the opening set.
SET 2 | UAPB lost the second set 25-23 to tie the match 1-1. The Lady Lions dropped a back-and-forth set, losing in a stanza that featured three lead changes and was tied nine times. Neither team led by more than three points along the way.
SET 3 | UAPB put the second-set loss behind and grabbed a 2-1 match lead with a win in the third set. The Lady Lions grabbed control of the set early when the score was 3-2 and never looked back to win 25-9. UAPB ended on a strong note, opening up its biggest lead of the stanza, 16 points, to finish off the set.
SET 4 | UAPB kept the momentum going, ending the match with a 25-9 set-four victory. The Lady Lions took control of the set at 4-3 and held the lead the rest of the way.
