UAPB Softball: Golden Lions Shutout Grambling St. to Clinch Conference Series.
PINE BLUFF, Arkansas —Sophomore Kayla Adams was dealing on Monday, throwing a one-hit shutout to lead the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Lady Lions over the Grambling Tigers 2-0 at the Torii Hunter Softball Complex. Adams went the distance for UAPB giving up one hit, walking two and striking out 12. The Lady Lions split Sunday’s doubleheader winning 4-3 and falling 14-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Lions took the lead for good in the fourth, scoring for the first time in the inning. Junior Lyric Perry put UAPB on the board with a two-out solo home run off junior Erin Gibbs.
The Lady Lions then tacked on a run in the sixth inning to complete their scoring in the ballgame. That run came across on an RBI single off the bat of freshman Allyncia King.
