UAPB Baseball: First Year Head Coach Logan Stout Announces Assistant Coaches
PINE BLUFF, AR.-The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff baseball team and Head Coach Logan Stout have officially announced Mark Moyer and RJ Pearson as the program’s new assistant coach.
“Coach Moyer is one of only a few hundred people in the world to be the All-Time Wins record holder as a pitcher in NCAA D1 college baseball, said coach Stout. “His ability to teach and connect with players is phenomenal.”
As the team’s assistant coach, Moyer will be responsible for coaching the pitchers and assisting in recruiting.”
Mark Moyer is entering his first season as the assistant coach and pitching coach for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Moyer brings over eight years of coaching experience, spanning from high school to elite summer showcase baseball. He has helped develop more than a dozen players who have gone on to play NCAA, NJCAA, and NAIA baseball, with some of those players attending colleges such as Arkansas, UAFS, Fort Scott, Eastern Oklahoma, and more.
Prior to joining UAPB, Moyer played Division 1 baseball at the University of Central Arkansas, where he holds the all-time win record (22) and ranks in the top 5 in multiple pitching statistical categories, such as innings, appearances, and strikeouts. Moyer’s coaching career includes stints as an assistant coach at Fort Smith Northside and Lonoke. He also coached for the Arkansas Sticks, one of the premier showcase organizations in the country.
Moyer earned his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Central Arkansas and received a Master’s in Sports Management. He is married to Claire Moyer and has two children, Camilla and Russell.
Pearson, who enters his first year with the team, will be responsible for team hitting, fielding, and assisting with recruiting. With over six years of experience in Division 1 baseball, Pearson has both played and coached at the college level.
Coach Stout expressed his confidence in Pearson: “Coach Pearson is not only a phenomenal coach but a fantastic person. His college-level playing and coaching experience will be invaluable to UAPB, and I am thrilled to have him on the staff.”
Prior to joining UAPB, Pearson played at Oral Roberts University and the University of Central Arkansas, where he served as a three-year starting shortstop. After graduating, Pearson held positions as assistant hitting coach, assistant infield coach, and director of baseball operations at UCA. Notably, the team achieved the school record for home runs and boasted the best fielding percentage in the conference in 2024.
Pearson holds a bachelor’s degree in health and safety from the University of Central Arkansas and a Master’s in Sports Management.
