Two $2.5k bonds set for two women being charged with theft of property

Two Pine Bluff women previously convicted of theft of property in shoplifting incidents were arrested Tuesday following an alleged theft at Walmart.

Christyantana Gates, 27, and Nicole Black, 42, were taken into custody after allegedly concealing unscanned merchandise at the store.

During a court hearing Wednesday, a deputy prosecutor explained the allegation which were based on an affidavit from Detective Sgt. Derric Neal, first Gates and then Black.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set bonds of $2,500 each for Gates and Black after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge them with second offense theft of property.

Gates and Black were told to come back to court April 23.
