The Southeast Arkansas College Board of Trustees Wednesday morning voted to table a request for an additional $325k plus closing costs for additional work on the new dormitory located on South Hazel Street.

Board member Ken Johnson made the motion to table the action so that board members could get more information before making a final decision and Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services Chief Shauwn Howell, who was chairing the special called meeting called for the vote.

Dee Brown, the CEO of the P3 Group, which did the work, explained why the additional funds were necessary.

Brown said a vast majority of the work was for things they were not responsible for.

Board member Marc Oudin then said this.

In addition to the kitchen, there were doors that had to be replaced and other minor work that was needed.

Howell told Brown that the issue would be taken care of and hopefully in less than 30 days.

On another subject, the final payment is due for Seabrook and Barbara Dunn shared some good news about that, with Oudin commenting afterward.
