Salvation Army Captain Jason Pardue explains the need for Christmas in July

Wednesday is United Way Day on the Oldies 1013 morning show and this week, Capt. Jason Pardue of the Salvation Army talked about the Christmas in July fund raising campaign that will take place next week.

He was asked about the locations where people can donate and responded this way.

Morning show host Greg Horne told Pardue that when he thinks of putting money in one of the red kettles in December, he associates that with the idea that someone is going to get a Christmas present.

Leslie Dorn, the executive director of the United Way was also on the program and Horne asked her about the excessive heat and where people can go to find cool air.
