Representative elect Barnes wants to use the old Altheimer-Martin school building

The Altheimer-Sherrill School District folded in 2007 and merged with the Dollarway School District.

The last school in that area to shut its doors was the Altheimer-Martin Elementary School. That facility still stands today.

And if state representative-elect Glen Barnes gets his way,  much of that building will be back in use.

Barnes grew up in Altheimer and attended the former Middle and Junior High School. While getting estimates for the Restoration project, Barnes has contributed more than

A thousand dollars of his own money. A portion of the facility will be used by the Central Baptist District…of which Barnes serves as District Moderator.  Barnes is also the

Pastor of the Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff. If you’d like to donate or contribute to the Altheimer Restoration project, contact Arkansas State representative elect Glenn Barnes, Sr.
