Three time All-American Camryn Newton-Smith will be representing her home country of Australia in the heptathlon during the Olympics in Paris. The Queensland, Australia native took the Australia and Oceana Heptathlon titles earlier this year with a PB of 6,180 points. While competing for Arkansas State, she racked up school and Sun Belt conference records in both the heptathlon and pentathlon. She will be the 11th athlete to go from Jonesboro to the Olympics, and the first since 2008. That’s when pole vaulter Jeff Hartwig was on the team in the Beijning games.
