At its most recent meeting, the McGehee City Council heard news that both the police and fire chiefs planned to leave their jobs.

According to the McGehee-Dermott Times News, Fire Chief Ricky Terry and Police Chief Scott Williams submitted their official resignations to Mayor Jef Owyoung.

Terry will be retiring after working for the McGehee Fire Department for 5- years. He will be replaced by Cameron Chapman who has been serving as Deputy Fire Chief and Director of EMS.

Williams will become the director of operations for the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy at Camden.

The newspaper did not identify his successor.
