A Pine Bluff man who was flagging traffic for construction on the Saline River bridge was killed Monday when he was hit by a vehicle.
According to a preliminary report, Ulyess Chandler Jr., 65, was in the southbound lane when he was hit by a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado that was southbound on U.S. 79 at 3:05 p.m.
Chandler was pronounced dead at the scene.
The death was the 394th so far this year on the state’s highways.
