Demolition work has begun on the old Pine Bluff High School campus as one of the four buildings are being taken down to prepare for construction of the brand-new school building.

Pine Bluff School District Superintendent Jennifer Barbaree was a guest on the Oldies 1013 Morning Show and was asked about the costs involved.

East Harding Construction will be the primary contractor for the project and Morning Show host Greg Horne asked Barbaree if local people will be involved in doing the work.

Horne then asked what determined who got the job and was it strictly the company with the lowest bid.

The new school is being built at the site of the former school and a lot of money has to be spent to prepare that site. Horne asked if was a mistake to rebuild at the same location.
