A reported shooting Monday night resulted in one of two people allegedly involved facing charges.

Following a court hearing Friday, Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth ruled prosecutors have probable cause to charge Cherrie Brock, 32, with aggravated assault and terroristic threatening.

Cordera Cain, 36, who faced the same allegations was released by the judge after she did not find probable cause to charge him.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Jason Boykin, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said on Monday at about 7:03 p.m., police were sent to a reported shooting on West Barraque Street near Foster Towing.

When police arrived, they found three victims who said they had been shot at by people in a red truck. Two of the three had minor injuries from falling to the ground.

Police reported finding three shell casings on the ground and one of the victims said they had gotten into an altercation with the people in the truck at the park on West Short 3rd St.

The witness also showed police the house where they said Brock lived.

When Cain was interviewed, he said he had just gotten off work and was in the truck but denied pointing a gun at the victims or threatening them.

Brock was ordered to have no contact with the victims and told to come back to court May 16.
