One person was killed and two others injured Sunday morning in a two-vehicle accident in Drew County according to a report from the Arkansas State Police.
According to the report 35-year-old Amanda Meier was driving a 2000 Honda CRV northbound on Midway Route at 10:47 a.m. Sunday when she failed to yield the right of way to a 2002 Chevy Tahoe that was heading west on US Highway 278 Bypass. The Tahoe collided with the passenger side of the CRV in the intersection of Midway Route and US Highway 278 Bypass.
The collision caused the death of a female minor in the CRV in addition to injuries to Meier. A female minor in the Tahoe was also injured in the crash. The injured were transported to Baptist Medical Center in Monticello and Jefferson Regional in Pine Bluff.
It was raining and roads were wet at the time of the crash.
To date, 544 people have been killed on Arkansas highways in 2024.
