Woodie A. Castleberry, Jr., 82 of Gould, Arkansas passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025.  Born on April 20, 1942, in Lonoke, Arkansas and the son of the late Woody A. Castleberry, Sr., and Doris Pettit Castleberry. His parents, son Mark Branson and daughter Judith Branson Holcomb, brother Donald Castleberry and sister Wanda Guidry, all preceded him in death.

Woodie was a member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. Member of Big Island Hunting Club, and Elmwood Hunting Club. Woodie retired after 35 years with the Southern Pacific (Cotton Belt) Railroad as a switchman. He enjoyed raising and tending to cattle and loved to hunt and fish.

Survivors include his loving wife Nedra Knight Castleberry of Gould, Arkansas, four sisters Peggy Webb of Woodlawn, Arkansas Delores Cantrell of Bentonville, Arkansas Kathryn O’Neil of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Sandy Lautsch of Dover, Arkansas, three grandchildren Jennifer (Jeff) Bradshaw, Tyler (Jodi) Threlkeld and Autumn (William) Bridewell, five great grandchildren, Eleanor and Price Bridewell, Addyson Wentz, Drake Threlkeld and Blake Croft.

Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 pm Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas, Arkansas with services following at 2:00pm with Rev. Dubs Byers and Rev. Todd Self officiating., and burial will be at Dark Corner Cemetery. Memorials in memory of Woodie may be made to Dark Corner Cemetery, 2103 State Hwy 83 North, Dumas, Arkansas 71639.
