1937-2024
Winnie Vansandt Cotten, 87, of DeWitt passed away October 7, 2024. She was born July 16, 1937, in Ethel to Wallie Havis Vansandt, Sr. and Eathel Alice Brown Vansandt.
Winnie worked for many years in the cafeteria at DeWitt High School. In her retirement years, she kept busy. She loved golfing and was the Senior State medalist for a couple of years. Over the years she was involved in the Jaycettes and Master Gardeners. Winnie always loved to read and was a big supporter of the public library. She loved to sew and quilt, and was a good cook. Winnie loved to travel, but her favorite place to be was the river house.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years Billy Cotten; three brothers W.H. "Dub" Vansandt, Jr, Richard Vansandt, and Cecil Vansandt; and one sister Juanita Childs.
Winnie is survived by her children Sharon Eathel Cotten of Stuttgart, Steve Cotten (Danita) of Hamburg, and B.J. Robinson (David) of Benton; five grandchildren Stephanie Cotten, Brandon Cotten (Mandy), Lesley Lamb, Julie Robinson and Amanda Robinson; three great grandchildren Peyton, Zoe, and Townsend Cotten; three brothers Kenny, Donald, and Gary Vansandt; one sister Kathleen Snyder; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Caring & Sharing Food Pantry, P.O. Box 8, DeWitt, AR 72042.
