Services for William H. “Buster” Crook, age 85, of Pine Bluff, who died Thursday, February 27, 2025, will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. Brother Dalton Adger and Brother Ken Thornton will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
Born at Little Rock on January 5, 1940, he was a son of the late William Harold Crook and Pauline Dean Crook. He graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1957 and attended the University of Arkansas where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity.
For 40 years, he owned and operated William H. Crook Insurance and Financial Services and was an agent for Arkansas Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Prior his career in insurance, he owned and operated Western Auto on Main Street from the early 1960’s until 1980.
Buster was an active member of First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff for many years and served as a deacon. He was also a longtime member of the Pine Bluff Kiwanis Club, where he held many offices including president. In his younger years, he was also a member of the Jaycees.
Survivors include his wife, Dannette Graves Crook, whom he married on June 14, 1959 at Pine Bluff; two sons, Norman Crook and Steve Crook; a granddaughter, Amy Crook (Trey Hackney); a great-grandchild, Hayden James Hackney; and a sister, Nena Townsend.
