1950-2025
William (Bill) Whipple 74 of Star City passed away Thursday, April 10 2025 at Delta Memorial Hospital in Dumas. Bill was a very generous man who took care of any and all family members whenever the need arose. He was a surrogate father and grandfather to his younger brothers, nieces and nephews.
He was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and sports in general. He retired as the office manager in 2019 from the office of Dr. Paul Whipple. He had previously managed a convenience store in his hometown of Johnston, RI for 30 years.
Bill professed a belief in his Lord Jesus Christ, which is ultimately his most precious accomplishment.
He was born April 15, 1950 in Providence RI to the late, Joseph William and Anna Butmarc Whipple. Also preceding him in death was a nephew, David Whipple and a niece, Rebecca Whipple Moore.
Survivors include six brothers, Thomas Whipple (Fayrene) and Michael Whipple of Star City, Richard Whipple (Beverly) of Vero Beach, Fl. Russell Whipple (Caryn), John Whipple (Pam), Dr. Paul Whipple (Jessica) all of Star City and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Sunday, April 13, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Hickory Grove Cemetery with Bro. Wesley Cooper officiating. Pallbearers will be Josh Whipple, Ed Moore, Tim Whipple, Adam Whipple, Jonathan Whipple, and Andy Verditti. Honorary Pallbearer, Richard Whipple.
There will be no formal visitation.
