1959-2025
Veronica Dale Young was born in Pine Bluff Arkansas on June 15th, 1959, to the late Dan and Birdie Ester Young.
Dale was a graduate of Pine Bluff High School, class of 1977 and went on to further her education at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, pursuing a Political Science degree. She also attended SEARK to receive her Criminal Justice associate’s degree and finally the University of Arkansas at Little Rock for Counselor-In-Training program. Dale had extensive work experience, from her 20 plus years at Central Moloney INC of Pine Bluff AR, to a Court Appointed Special Advocate as a Youth Advocate Volunteer to a Juvenile Probation Officer Volunteer for Jefferson County 6th Circuit Court Division. Dale was currently employed at V Force, where she served as an administrator and dispatcher.
Dale possessed several passions and gifts from God. Dale’s deep abiding love of her 4 Children helped to hone those gifts as a provider, comforter, and caretaker. She left a blueprint for them to follow throughout their lives. Dale was also a community leader. Children as well as adults sought Dale’s advice. Advice that was solicited and sometimes unsolicited!! Dale was always who she was, never backing down or compromising on her morals and principles. Her words were direct and to the point and always on point. She gave sisterly love to her siblings and sometimes motherly and fatherly love mixed in. God wrapped several women into one, when he sculpted Dale, and she used all of them. Dale’s true passion besides the love of her family was shopping for a deal. No one could spot a deal better than Dale. If you need to know the value of anything, ask Dale. She would tell you if you paid too much or whether you really got a bargain. If you really wanted to know, ask Dale before you go. How she kept facts and figures in her head has always been a mystery and a gift. Lastly, Dale was a “giver”. There seem to be no limits to her giving. If she had it and you wanted or needed it, she gave it. If she didn’t have it, she would find it and bring it to you. If there was a heart on earth bigger than Dale’s, we have yet to meet the person that possesses it. That’s what we’ll miss the most about Dale.
Dale was the 4th of 6 children. One brother preceded her in death (Emmanuel Young) and Son (Rodney Young). Dale completed her Journey on February 13th 2025, and leaves to cherish her memory, her Son Corey Long of Pine Bluff AR, Daughter Kimberly Smith of Little Rock Arkansas, and Son Wesley Smith (Deidre) of Maumelle Arkansas her Brother David Young (Ruby) of Pine Bluff Arkansas, Sister Dannie Williams (Emmett) of Pine Bluff AR, Brothers, Alton Young (Veronica) of Pine Bluff Arkansas, and Sam Young of Pine Bluff Arkansas and a host of loving Grandchildren, one Great Grandchild, and several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Dale will be deeply missed, and her memory will be everlasting.
