Tom H Hoover, 92
1933-2025

Tom H. Hoover, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on March 31, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on January 4, 1933, in Dermott, Arkansas, he graduated from Dermott High School in 1950. After high school, Tom moved to Texas in 1952, where he worked in construction, specializing as a heavy equipment operator. He contributed to the building of downtown Dallas, as well as roads and highways throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Tom served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955 with the 101st Airborne Division at Camp Breckenridge, KY, and was honorably discharged.

In 1964, Tom married Mary Emma Taylor. They shared a loving marriage until Mary’s untimely passing on May 13, 1982. Tom was the proud father of two sons, Jerry and Tom.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Tom enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. He shared his love for the outdoors and citizenship through volunteer work with the Boy Scouts of America with both of his sons. He was also an attendee of Dallas County Cowboy Church, where he found comfort and community.

Tom was preceded in death by his father, Tommie Guy Hoover; his mother, Myra Tom Dungan; his brothers, David and John; his sisters, Edna and Helen; and his wife, Mary.
Tom leaves behind a loving family: Son, Tom, and his granddaughter, Sarah, and great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Hailey.
Son, Jerry, and his wife, Monica, along with their children, Emmary, Annalyse, and Thomas.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Mesquite Funeral Home, located at 721 Gross Rd, Suite C, Mesquite, TX 75149.

A graveside burial service will be held on April 10, 2025 at the Dermott City Cemetery in Dermott, Arkansas at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Operation Honor Guard or The Dementia Society of America.
