1967-2024
Steven Kent Norris, age 57, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, left this world on October 22, 2024. He was proceeded in death by his father, Stanley Norris Born in Dumas, Arkansas, on March 2, 1967, Steven was a proud graduate of Dumas High School, Class of 1985 where he made lasting memories that lived on through his detailed story telling skills decades later. He earned his degree in criminal justice in 1999 and spent two decades with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Forrest City, where he made many lifelong friends and memories.
A true Southern gentleman, Steven, was known for his caring and generous heart. He had a special love for music, with Lynyrd Skynyrd being at the top of his playlist. Whether he was teeing off on the golf course, hunting on Big Island, or sharing a laugh around a campfire, he filled every moment with joy and adventure. His witty humor and infectious laughter brought light to everyone around him.
Steven is survived by his mother, Beth Norris of Dumas; his daughters, Danielle Alisha Myers (Matt) and Mary Elizabeth Norris; grandchildren, Nathan Myers and Kathryn Myers; siblings, Jennifer Moore (Travis), Cindy Rector (Claude), and Stoney Norris; Uncle Larry Norris (Phyllis); a host of nieces and nephews; and best friends, Robert Tansy and Chris Curtis, who were like brothers to him also. He also leaves behind his four-legged best friend, Elvis.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 5-7 P.M., Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas, Arkansas. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Steven’s life at the First Baptist Church on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 10 A.M. in Gould, Arkansas, with Rev. Huge Austin and Rev. Jerry Rawson officiating and burial following in Dark Corner Cemetery.
Steven will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His larger-than-life spirit, quick wit, and unwavering love for his family and friends will forever remain in our hearts.
