1943-2025
Ruthie Lee Hayes, age 82, passed away March 28, 2025. She was born January 27, 1943 to the late Frank Wynne and Earnest and Joyce Minchew in Arkansas City, Arkansas. Ruthie was a cosmetologist for 63 years. She was a member of Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church where she served as the bookkeeper and treasurer for over 40 years. She loved bingo, pokeno, shopping and fishing. Ruthie was devoted and loved her church.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Rodger Hayes and brother Tinker Otis Wynne. She is survived by her sons, Rusty (Sherry) Hayes of Oak Grove, LA and Ronnie (Diana) Hayes of Star City, AR; daughter, Sherri (Donnie) Jones of Lake Village, AR; sisters, Maxine (John) Hites of Halley, AR, Laverne Slaughter of Lake Village, AR; six grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Monday, March 31, 2025, from 1:00-2:00 pm, at Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Lake Village, Arkansas. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Bro. Philip Payne officiating. Interment will follow at Halley Cemetery in Halley, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Lee Hayes, Layne Hayes, Hunter Hayes, Trevor Jones, Triston Jones, and Robert Richardson.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes for donations to be made to the Halley Cemetery at 1035 HWY 59 South, Dermott, Arkansas 71638.
