1938-2024
Roy Douglas Smith, 86, of Pine Bluff, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024 in Little Rock. He was born October 1, 1938 in Dumas, son of Clay King Smith and Tommie Carter Smith Stephens.
Mr. Smith was reared and received his early education in Dumas, graduating from Dumas High School. He worked for International Paper for many years, retiring in management. Roy owned and operated Roy D. Smith Construction and Roy D. Smith, LLC, a trucking company, for many years.
He loved traveling and flying his airplane.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Douglas Smith, David Smith and Clay Smith; sister, Martha Collins; and brother, Sam Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Blackwell Smith, whom he married July 21,1990; daughter, Kathy Fuell (Mark); son, James Baker; two grandchildren, Derrick and Lucas Fuell; brother, Larry Smith; and sister, Myra Cooper.
A graveside service will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2024 at Campground Cemetery near Monticello with Brother Cadell Welch officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-6 p.m. at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors in Pine Bluff.
