Ross Hoover, 95, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, formerly of Pine Bluff and Maumelle, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 9, 2025.
Ross was a longtime member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, formerly located in Pine Bluff. He was born on July 6, 1929, to Martin and Sadie Nicholas Hoover. He was a disabled U.S. Army Veteran, having served during the Korean War Era, and was stationed in Japan during the occupation of Okinawa. After discharge from the military, he went to work for the Pine Bluff Arsenal and retired from the Arsenal in 1984.
Ross was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, Lillian Hastings Hoover and Willa Dean Taylor Hoover, a stepson, Harold Love, four brothers, Richard, Lawrence, Charles, and Clyde Hoover, two sisters, Frances Elkins and Mary Alice Hoover, his son-in-law, John Taylor, and his step-son-in-law, Richard Knox.
Survivors include his daughter, Carol Taylor of Maumelle, his son, Joe Hoover (Elizabeth) of Maumelle, his stepdaughter, Brenda Knox of Pine Bluff, his stepson, Jerry Love (Susan) of Pine Bluff, a brother, Jimmie Hoover (Kitty) of Robertsdale, Alabama, his grandchildren, Jonathan Hoover (Shannon) of White Hall, Russell Hoover (Pamela) of Pine Bluff, Matthew Hoover of Maumelle, his step-grandchildren, Julia White (Robert) of Pine Bluff, Laura Love of Sheridan, Stephen Burns (Samantha) of White Hall, Daniel Burns of White Hall, Jeff Furman of Pine Bluff, Meghan Love-Matheson of Sheridan, four greatgrandchildren, eight step-greatgrandchildren, and two step-great greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel at Robinson’s Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2025 with Reverend Ferrel West officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A private burial will be held at the Shady Grove Cemetery in Grant County.
