Robert Smith Floyd 84, of Star City passed away peacefully at home on January 8th, 2025.
He was born October 11, 1940, in Rowell, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert William Floyd and Estelle Smith Floyd, a sister, Virginia Harris, and beloved son in law Keith Thomas, who beat him to heaven’s gates by 35 days.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years Linda Brockman Floyd; children- Audra McManus, Andrea Thomas (Keith), Robert Wilson Floyd (Rachael); grandchildren- Baylee McManus, Kennedy Calhoun (Justin), Murphy Thomas (Stormie), Alana Vazquez (Gustavo), Josie Claire Floyd, Jane Ellen Floyd, and Jeorgia Anne Floyd. Additional survivors include great grandchildren- Whitlee Lawson, Harlow Mondragon, Selah Calhoun, Wylee Thomas, Briar Calhoun; one sister Glynetta Burnett of Hensley, special brother-in-law Kenneth Brockman, and lifelong friend of 54 years, Harold B Moore.
He was a Deacon of First Baptist Church for 36 years, president of Floyd Holdings, and president of Yorktown Water Association. He was a past board director for Star City School District, Bank of Star City, Relyance Bank, Lincoln County Fair Board, Lincoln County Riding Club, and Southeast Arkansas Horse Show Association.
He was a very devoted and loving Christian husband, father, and grandfather who left an inspirational legacy. He was also a dedicated community member with a heart that helped so many in their time of need. He loved being part of the First Baptist Church Singing Christmas Tree and getting to display his own Christmas lights at his home for over 36 years. He enjoyed being in the hay fields, gardening, working cows, and working at his mill yard of Floyd Sawmill, since 1962.

There will be no formal services per his request.
