Rickey Dale Doucey, 73, of White Hall, was a devoted servant to the city of White Hall and his family who enjoyed race cars, traveling and jewelry making.
He passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at home.
Rickey was born April 2, 1951 in West Plains, Missouri, son of Freddie Doucey and Mildred Conway Doucey. He moved with his family several times growing up and graduated form Arkadelphia High School in Arkansas.
He married a White Hall girl, Brenda Smith, on August 16, 1969 and became a fixture in White Hall.
After working for W&A Manufacturing for several years, he joined the White Hall Volunteer Fire Department in 1978 and began working for the City of White Hall in 1981. He was a hard worker and “wealth of knowledge” who greatly helped White Hall develop into the community it is today. He worked for the City of White Hall in various capacities until retiring in 2011 as the Operations Supervisor. Rickey became White Hall Fire Chief in 1996 and retained that title until his retirement from the department in 2006.
Rickey became a devoted member of First Baptist Church of White Hall in 2019.
He had many interests. Rickey enjoyed traveling and went to 38 states, including Hawaii. He loved working on race cars and was a big Mark Martin fan. Rickey also made jewelry.
Along with is parents, Rickey was preceded in death by his brother, Jay Lynn Doucey; and grandson, Eric Marshall.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Brenda Smith Doucey of White Hall; son, David Doucey (Susie) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Norman Smith (Emily) of White Hall; nephew, Keenan Smith (Alex) of White Hall; and two dogs, Dixie and Honey.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2024 at First Baptist Church of White Hall with Brothers Paul Williams and Jim Monroe officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery by Robinson and Fuller White Hall Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Robinson and Fuller.
