1940-2025
Morris “Jit” Dreher, 84 of Hot Springs and Grady, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025 at his home in Hot Springs. He was born August 18, 1940 in Pulaski County, AR to the late Robert Edward and Mamie Lucille Dorsey Dreher.
Jit was of the Methodist faith and was a farmer with Round Lake Planting Company in Grady. He was a member of The Grady Lions Club, member of Grady Big Island Hunting Club, and served on the Arkansas Department of Corrections Board as an Agricultural Advisor for many years. He loved horse racing and enjoyed his life as a farmer.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnne Swaithes Dreher, who he started dating in 1958 and later married on January 6, 1962 at the First Baptist Church in Star City; and his brother, Robert Edward Dreher, Jr.
Survivors include 2 sons, Jimmy Dreher and wife Nancy of Grady and Paul Dreher and wife Stacy of Star City; sister, Milly Dreher Glover and husband Randy of Hot Springs; 5 grandchildren, Ashley Dreher Gardner and husband Drew of Cordele, GA, Gil Dreher and wife Amy of Star City, Shelby Dreher Sandefur and husband Ben of Cordele, GA, Hannah Dreher Peterson and husband Chris of Star City, and Haley Dreher Burns and husband Landon of Star City; and 8 great-grandchildren, Emberlyn Dreher, Millie Drew Gardner, Elly Gay, Winn Thomas Gardner, Paul Ander Burns, Easton Dreher, Grady Peterson, and Henry Burns.
Funeral services are 10:00AM Monday, March 10, 2025 at Griffin Funeral Service Chapel in Star City with Bro. Scott Gallimore officiating. Visitation is 5:00-7:00PM Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the funeral home. Burial at Drake Cemetery. Pallbearers are Drew Gardner, Gil Dreher, Ben Sandefur, Chris Peterson, Landon Burns, and John Tyson. Honorary pallbearers are John Curtis Jackson, Jack Jackson, James West, Johnny McGraw, John Dreher, and Evan Gray.
