1940-2025
Mary Kathryn DeWitt, 84 of Star City, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord Jesus on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. She was born November 26, 1940 in Rolla, MO, to the late Don Charles and Ruth Maddox Finnugan.
She was a devoted member of Center Missionary Baptist Church. She loved to work outside in her yard and flower garden. She was a faithful wife of 62 years; a loving, selfless mother and grandmother; and a beloved sister, friend and aunt. She always took time for others. No matter how tired she was she would stop what she was doing to read to her grandchildren, sit in the floor and play with them or listen to their stories.
Throughout her life, she looked unto the Lord and was uncomplaining throughout her years of suffering with Parkinson’s disease. She prayed for her family. She spoke of praying for her children in some of the last words she was able to speak.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Don Finnugan.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth DeWitt of Star City; son, Tim DeWitt and wife Kim of Sherman, TX; 3 daughters, Kristin Carrington and husband Billy, Rebekah DeWitt-Wallis and husband Kenneth, and Deborah Kiefhaber, all of Star City; 4 sisters, Patricia Taylor and husband F.J. of Rolla, MO, Betty Stevens of Elkin, N.C., Karen Cochrane of Star City and Darla Hildebrand of Star City, and 10 grandchildren.
