Mary Kathryn Jenkins, 100, of Pine Bluff passed away on Monday, January 6, 2024, at the Greenhouse Cottages at Southern Hills in Rison.

Mary Kay was born on February 21, 1924 in Bastrop, Louisiana, to Gaston and Launa Sawyer Harrison. She was a graduate of Bastrop High School and completed a course of study at a business school in Monroe, Louisiana. Following her studies, she was employed by the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Services in Bastrop.

On November 14, 1945, she married Raymond Robinson Jenkins and they enjoyed 36 years together before his untimely death in 1981.

Mary Kay was a faithful member of First Methodist Church, Pine Bluff and the Pearl Burnham Sunday School Class. She was a woman with strong convictions and an active mind, always ready for a spirited discussion. Her devotion as a wife, mother and grandmother was unquestioned.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Dorothy Atkins, her son, Jeffrey Harrison Jenkins, her husband Raymond and her grandson, Jared Jeffrey Jenkins.

Survivors include her sons, Morris (Alice) of Hot Springs Village and Mark (Kelly) of Pine Bluff; four grandchildren, Josh Jenkins (Rachel) of Cabot, Bess Jenkins of Fayetteville, Sally Jenkins Glover (Cal) of Sheridan and Megan Jenkins of Hot Springs; and great-grandchildren, Elliot and Bonnie Jenkins of Cabot and soon to arrive, her third great-grandchild, John Hudson Glover of Sheridan.
