Marilyn Hutcheson, 71
1953-2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marilyn Elaine Hutcheson, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, who left us peacefully on January 7, 2025, at the age of 71.

Born December 09, 1953, in Pine Bluff, she was the daughter of the late David Kenneth “DK” Hutcheson and Norma Matlock Hutcheson. Marilyn graduated from Pine Bluff High School and attended Henderson State University.

Marilyn was a member of First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff.

She worked for the Arkansas Department of Corrections for nearly 20 years.

Marilyn was known for her incredible sense of humor, and her famous “Hallelujah”. A devoted animal lover, she found joy and solace in the companionship of her beloved, cats, dogs, and horse named Outlaw. Together, Marilyn and Outlaw shared many adventures through the trails, where Marilyn’s love for horse trail riding shone brightly. Her connection with Outlaw was a testament to her gentle spirit and her ability to form lasting bonds with the creatures she cared for.

Marilyn’s presence was a source of warmth and laughter to all who knew her. Whether it was sharing a funny story, offering support to a friend, or just bringing a smile to those around her. Her great sense of humor made every moment with her memorable. She had a way of making others feel special and cared for, and her kindness extended top everyone she met.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Ross Hutcheson.

Survivors include her children, Marc Maloy (Leslie) of White Hall and Amber Davies (Jim) of White Hall; sister-in-law and best friend, Barbara Hutcheson of Sulphur Springs; niece, Gina Nutt (Bo) of Fordyce; nephews, Mack Milner (Donna) of Sulphur Springs and Marty Milner (Erica) of Marysville, IN; 3 grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Will Davies, Drew Davies and Kai McNeil; 11 great-great nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends who will forever cherish the memories they made with her. Marilyn’s legacy of laughter, love, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 13, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff with a celebration of Marilyn’s life following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Kenneth Thornton and Brother Dalton Adger officiating. Family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share stories of her remarkable life. Visitation will be Monday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery by Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Jefferson County Humane Society, PO Box 2233, Pine Bluff, AR 71613; the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 904 Autumn Road, Suite 500, Little Rock, AR 72211, two causes that were close to Marilyn’s heart; and her beloved church, First Baptist Church, 6501 S. Hazel Street, Pine Bluff, AR 71603.
