Margaret Ellen Mullikin Scifres was born January 14, 1925, in Star City, AR. She was the daughter of the late Rufus Kendrick Mullikin, Sr. and Belle Monk Mullikin. Margaret was a graduate of Star City High School, Class of 1944. Over the years, she spent most of her time as a homemaker, but also worked part-time as a sales clerk for Sears. She was a member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church.
Margaret passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, after recently celebrating her 100th birthday. She will be remembered for her lifelong faith and her sweet sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Ross Scifres; her son, Jimmie Leron Scifres; seven brothers, R.K. Mullikin, Frank Mullikin, Arthur Mullikin, Dee Mullikin, Guss Mullikin, Buck Mullikin and Jake Mullikin; and 5 sisters, Maggie Mullikin, Chester Wynn, Esther Riley, Grace Newman and Gladys Hall; granddaughter, Shannon Rene Scifres; and her great-grandson Jeremy Sadler.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Susan Scifres and Stephanie Scifres and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Emma. She will also be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Robinson and Fuller White Hall Funeral Chapel followed by funeral services at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Holly Springs Cemetery near Garnett, AR.
