1955-2024
Kathy Leona Laughry, 69, of Pine Bluff, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024. She was born March 26, 1955, in Nashville, TN. Kathy spent her lifetime being involved in various occupations, whether it was waitressing, serving as a secretary for the Jefferson County Junior Deputies, the nearly 5 years working at Stant, or most recently as a homemaker.
Kathy was usually happiest being a homebody but enjoyed the occasional visit to Branson. She also loved camping and fishing and will be remembered as a good cook. She loved going shopping and would never be caught leaving the house without being completely made-up, especially the red lipstick!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Andrew Russell and Lucy Marie Reeves; her husband, Leeson Laughry; brother, William Andrew Russell; and sister, Melissa Jane Taylor, all of Nashville,TN.
Survivors include her life-time partner, Melford Leroy Slaughter of White Hall; daughter, Melanie Roxann Rainey of Pine Bluff; two grandchildren whom she dearly loved, Bryan Vincent Rainey and Brianna Roxann Rainey of East End, AR; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth “Liz” and Nick Joest of KY, and Jessie Faye and Mike Bryant of Jacksonville; special friend, Randy Dyar, her BFF’s, Stacy Baxter and Thomas Duncan; a number of nieces and nephews, including Olivia Handy whom she considered as a daughter; and her fur baby, Gabbi.
Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 3, 2025, at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Home followed by funeral services at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
