John Wayne Haynes, 70, of Pine Bluff, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024, at his home. He was born July 23, 1954, in Pine Bluff to John William and Mattie Jane Higgins Haynes. He worked for Viking Bag for over 17 years until its’ closing, then began working for the Arkansas Department of Transportation for 22 years until his retirement as a heavy equipment operator. Wayne loved fishing in his spare time and was an accomplished woodworker and cabinet builder.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Etta Jeanette Haynes; and a brother, James Haynes.
Survivors include one son, John “Jay” Haynes, Jr. and wife, Amy; one daughter, Janelle Haynes; sisters, Floy Ann Harper, Barbara Ellen Shinn and husband, Jim, Marie Junice Navarro and husband, Jesus, and Edith Marie Severns; one brother, Lee Alexander Bates; four grandchildren, Zoey Haynes, Jordyn Haynes, Alek Haynes, and Kytelynn Haynes; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held 10:00-12:00 A.M. Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors with cremation to follow.
