Jewel Lee Davis was the oldest daughter born to the late Bob Davis and the late Albirdia Davis on June 26,1939 in Cospur, Arkansas.
Mother professed her faith and accepted Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Thomas Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who loved to cook. This is how she showed her love to anyone she met. She enjoyed the holidays so much that she made sure everyone had their own sweet potato pie. She loved fishing and gardening. She loved her pastor, Rev. Donald and Sister Yvette Manning and the Thomas Chapel Church family.
She was married to the late James Tate. She was preceded in death by daughters: Brinda Tate-Jasper, Sandra Davis-Phillips and Kimberly Davis, sisters: Maxine Barnett and Travistine Davis, brother: Bobby Davis, granddaughter: Katiedra Harris, grandsons: Corbi Keith Ingram, Cordulon Watson, Antonio Hutson and Anthony Tate and a life partner the late Willie (Bubba) Sanders.
She leaves to cherish her memories: daughters: Christine Richardson, Joyce Figures, Melanie Griffin, Sherrice Davis and Terrie (Levon) Davis-Lee, sons: Donnie (Rhonda) Griffin, Danny Kay Griffin and Darric (Kimberly) Davis, brothers: Horace Davis and Freddie Davis, sister: Dorothy Jackson, extended family: Lorean Johnson, William (Gloria) Sanders, Ella Sanders, Rosie Sanders, Raymond Sanders, Melvin (Carol) Sanders, Eddie (Denise) Sanders and Kevin Sanders, 50 grandchildren, 141 great-grands, 20 great-great grands and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
