Jewel Donald Cook, 81
1943-2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Donnie Cook, a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, on April 2nd, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on May 14, 1943, in Wickes, Arkansas Donnie lived a life driven by passion and a deep love for the open road.

For many years, "Cookie" Monster navigated the highways and byways of America as a dedicated truck driver. The rumble of the engine and the miles stretching out before them were a source of constant joy and a testament to his independent spirit. Beyond the long hauls, Donnie found his true exhilaration at the racetrack. The roar of the engines, the smell of burning rubber, and the thrill of the race were a constant source of excitement. Whether it was dirt track on tv or local speedway, Donnie was a devoted fan and previously, a participant. He could often be found sharing racing stories, and cheering on his favorite driver.

Donnie’s love for racing was only surpassed by his love for his family. He was a devoted father, poppy, bambino and brother who cherished every moment spent with loved ones. His kindness, generosity, and infectious enthusiasm will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing them.

Donnie is survived by his loving sons, Donovan (Haley) & Curtis (Muffin), grandchildren Courtney Cook & Drake Cook. Brother Benny (Lisa) cook and sister Judy (John) Heidi. He is preceded in death by his parents Jewel D Cook and Odie Lee (Sullivan) Cook.

A memorial service to celebrate Donnie's life will be held on Tuesday April 8th at Vilonia Cowboy Church. Visitation at 6pm and service at 7pm. Wednesday burial will be held at 11am in Wickes, Arkansas.

May the open road rise up to meet you, and may your final lap be the fastest one yet.
