1948-2024
Janet Elizabeth Pugh was born June 27,1948. Her parents were the late W.T and Marie Coates. She received her education at Carver Elementary Merrill Junior High School and graduated from Merrill High School. Janet went on to receive her bachelor's degree in education from Arkansas AM&N Branch Normal College after graduation. She pursued her career as an elementary teacher at Plum Bayou Elementary School, Wabbaseka Elementary School, Altheimer Elementary School and retired from the Dollarway School District after 33 years of teaching and impacting many lives through her teaching skills.
Janet accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Barraque Street Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of the late Rev C.B Knox.
Janet was united in holy matrimony with Leroy Pugh to this union 2 boys were born Draymond and Brian.
Janet united with Highland Ministries during the pastorage of Apostle C.L. Mack where she remained a faithful member and served as a member of the benevolent committee.
She was preceded in death by her parents her brothers Bernard and Alvin Coates, and sister Joyce Levingston. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Leroy Pugh her two sons Draymond and Brian Pugh and their wives Judy and Kim, two granddaughters Arin and Nira Pugh and three grandsons Aaron Jr, Draymond Jr and Drayton Pugh, and sister Carolyn O'Bryant along with a host of Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends. Janet departed this life November 10, 2024, at her home in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
