J.W. Cotton of Sheridan, Arkansas was born June 21, 1935 in Sheridan, the son of the late John Henry and Alma Ellie Williams Cotton. He was a faithful member of True Hope Baptist Church in Sheridan and was a board member for the Sheridan/Lost Creek Cemetery Association. He enjoyed gardening and hunting and spending time with his family.
J.W. died Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Sherwood at the age of 89.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Horton Cotton; son, Stan Cotton; daughter, Jeannie Dunigan; step-father, Eulis Lemons; brothers, Lee Lemons, Ralph Lemons, Tommy Ray Lemons; sisters Betty King, Mae Dean Wilson and Bonnie Riggan.
Survivors: wife, Linda Lively Cotton of Sheridan; son, Ricky Cotton of Brooklyn; step-son, Aaron Lively of Virginia; daughters, Nancy Lynn Blancett (Johnny) of Jonesboro, Amanda Anderson (Lance) of Paragould; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and many nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
Funeral service will be Friday, March 14, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Estes officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 until service time at the funeral home.
