Houston Everett Culpepper, 76
1948-2025

Houston Everett Culpepper Jr., of Rison, Arkansas, born in Little Rock, Arkansas March 21, 1948 and passed away in Rison on March 18, 2025, just days before his 77th birthday. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and hardworking man who always put his family first.

Houston was a decorated military veteran serving from 1968-1974 in the Vietam War.

He spent the majority of his career with Tyson Foods, where he worked tirelessly until his well-earned retirement. He was a man of the road, spending much of his life behind the wheel of a truck. Driving was more than just a job—it was a way of life for him.

Outside of work, he found joy in the simple things—casting a fishing line, mowing the yard, and enjoying a good cigarette! He was a man of strong opinions and had a colorful vocabulary, never shy about sharing either, especially with his kids.

Houston was the kind of man who left an impression—whether through a lesson taught, or a well-timed curse word. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Ruth; his children, Houston III (Karmin); Tamara Donaldson (Davy); Ryan (Melissa); and Renea Plaudis, (David); his grandchildren, Brock, Haven, Abigail, Aiden, Wyatt, Ali, Jonathon, Ashley and Megan; and several great-grandchildren. As well as his two sisters. He is preceded in death by his father, Houston Culpepper Sr., mother, Bertie Faye Smith Culpepper, step mother; Helen Culpepper and granddaughter, Lola Brooke Culpepper.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to The Green House Cottages of Southern Hills, especially the dedicated staff of the Puterbaugh Cottage. Your kindness, compassion, and unwavering care meant so much to us. We deeply appreciate everything you did to provide comfort for not only him, but the entire family.

His memorial service is scheduled for Saturday March 22, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Buie & Cole Funeral Home.
