Harry Eugene Burns, Jr., 59, of Pine Bluff, was a servant of people, whether it was for his country, his church, or his fellow man.

Mr. Burns passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024 at home.

He was born May 2, 1965 in Key West, Florida, son of Harry Eugene Burns, Sr. and Reta Carolyn Jarrett Pipkin.

Mr. Burns was reared and received his early education in Florida and Arkansas, graduating from Watson Chapel High School in 1983.

He proudly served in the United States Army.

Harry was a truck driver for Knox Nelson Oil Company for several years.

He was an active member of Family Church in White Hall since 2012. Harry loved serving his church through Celebrate Recovery, the children’s ministry and working the sound booth.

Mr. Burns served his community as a CASA advocate for foster kids and served on the board of directors for the Arkansas Advocates for Nursing Home Residents.

Harry was preceded in death by his mom and step-dad, Reta Carolyn Jarrett Pipkin and John “J.P.” Pipkin.

Survivors include his sister, Elizabeth Pipkin Lamb; father and step-mom, Harry Eugene Burns, Sr. and Debra Burns; and step-sister, Rubye Snodgrass.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Robinson and Fuller White Hall Funeral Chapel with Brother Stephen Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in Crossroads Cemetery in Kingsland. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Robinson and Fuller in White Hall.
