1936-2024
Mrs. Ella M. Knight, born January 7, 1936, in Moroney, Arkansas, to Allen Hill and Willie Ophilia Miles passed October 29, 2024, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was raised by her maternal grandparents George C. and Vinnie Luella Miles on their family farm, where she enjoyed riding the horses, and other farm life. She married Freddie Knight Sr. on November 3, 1963. During her spare time, she enjoyed fishing and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband Freddie Knight Sr., her father and mother Willis and Willie Ophilia Turntine, her biological father Allen Hill, paternal grandparents Cisero and Nancy Cavaness Hill, maternal grandparents George C. and Vinnie Remley Miles. Two brothers Jesse and Larry Turntine. Two sons Roy L. Collins and Richard P. Knight, one grandson Jeffery Hill, Jr.
She attended the Person Chapel School in Moroney, Arkansas, Antioch School in Long Lake, Arkansas and the Grady School in Grady, Arkansas. She attended Marzell Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Lamar Brooks.
She leaves in memory of her two sons; Freddie and Gregory (Evelyn) Knight, three daughters: Vera (Larry) Turner, Doris Huggins, and Clara Knight. Three sisters, Vinnie Brazell, Christine Turntine, Geraldine (Morris) Collins. Seven grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren.
