1943-2025
Eddie Moring of Sheridan, Arkansas was born March 8, 1943 at Pine Bluff, the son of the late Willie E. “Babe” Moring and Mary Frances Stuckey Moring. He was a longtime member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
He retired after many years at the Pine Bluff Arsenal. Upon retirement, he became the local appliance repair man around Grant County. He didn’t really make any money doing it, in fact, it probably cost him more than he made, because he’d often just do it to help people out. He enjoyed hunting and was a founding member of Sheridan Boys Club Hunting Club. He likely enjoyed the times spent around the fire at deer camp with his family and friends as much or more than the hunting itself. He also liked to fish, and just be outdoors in general. Before the days of social media, the place you’d exchange information was the local coffee shop(s) and businesses.
Eddie, along with numerous other friends, both past and present, would gather daily over coffee, and they may not solve the world’s problems, but they definitely had opinions about them. He really didn’t try to hide the fact that he absolutely cherished the title of “Papa Eddie” to his grandkids. He even endured the school car line to pick them in the afternoon and take them to get anything they wanted. They truly meant the world to him He was so proud of them as they grew from children to adults, and whether he realized it or not, he played a huge role in instilling in them those basic values of integrity and common sense that seem all too rare anymore. Eddie was his happiest in his overalls and his pickup truck, just being a small town man, who loved his family, his friends and his country…..and he sure was glad he lived long enough to get President Trump re-elected.
Survivors include his sons, Lee Moring and David and wife Valerie Moring, all of Sheridan; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and James Johnson of Little Rock; grandchildren, Brittney McCoy and husband Jesse, Mackenzie and Macy; great grandchildren, Madden and Frances. He is also survived by other extended family members and friends.
