1956-2024
Donna Jean Pennington, 68 of Star City, left this earth for her heavenly home on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born January 18, 1956 in Fordyce. She was a member of Hwy 79 South Church of Christ. She was a paraprofessional for Jimmy Brown Elementary for 28 years. She was devoted to helping her students learn to read and also to adding laughter to her co-workers day. Donna loved her family with her whole heart. She loved being with them whether it be taking a fun trip together or just hanging out at home. She loved to cook and those that knew her knew she would “tweek” recipes to make them her own. Her daughters, sons-in-law, and her granddaughter were her greatest joy and she loved being a momma and JeJe. Friends and family will remember her by her beautiful smile and how she brought joy to and found joy in every situation.
Preceding her in death was her father, James Lamar McDade.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Pennington of Star City; her mother, Faydra Hamilton McDade of Pine Bluff; two daughters, Tanya Pennington Hill (Brad) and Amanda Pennington White (Cody) both of Monticello; brother, Michael McDade (Loretta) of Pine Bluff; one grandchild who she loved to the moon and back and to the railroad track, Ava Claire Hill; and a grand dog, Tinker.
Funeral services are 2:00PM Friday, November 29, 2024 at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City with Bro. Clarence Fell officiating. Visitation is 1:00-2:00PM Friday at the funeral home. Burial at Leek Cemetery. Pallbearers are Brad Hill, Cody White, Jim Pennington, Logan Smith, and Josh McDade.
