Deronda Clements Goodman, 79
1946-2025

Deronda Clements Goodman of Prattsville, Arkansas was born January 6, 1946 in Mineral Springs, Arkansas, spending her childhood in Springhill, Louisiana. She was the daughter of the late Willie Bell Clements and Lorraine Corbell Clements. At a young age Deronda accepted Jesus as her Savior and she’s faithfully served Him since that day. If anyone wanted an example of what a Pastor’s wife should be, they wouldn’t have to look any further than Deronda. She was one of the kindest, most genuine people you’d ever meet. Her gentle, reassuring smile, coupled with her huge servant’s heart, helped countless numbers of people over many years look beyond their situation, allowing them to see Jesus much more clearly. She gladly accepted hugs over thanks or recognition. She supported her husband’s ministry as Pastor of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years. To say she cherished her family would be a huge understatement. Being Don’s best friend and wife for 58 years, mom to their four children, and Granny to the grandchildren and great grandchildren was the greatest joy of her life. She felt that Individually they were each a huge blessing, and collectively they were the greatest gift God could ever have given her. Although we grieve her death, at the same time we celebrate the fact that her faith has truly become sight today.

Mrs. Goodman died Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her family, at the age of 79. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Charlie Ann Pearson and her brothers Derrell Clements and Loy Clements.
