David Shannon Helms passed away on March 20, 2025. Born on April 17, 1978, David grew up with a deep appreciation for the natural world. He graduated Hermitage High School before continuing his education at SAU Camden.
David had a profound love for nature, and in return, nature embraced him. Whether in the quiet of the woods, by the water’s edge, or under an open sky, he found peace and beauty in the world around him. His gentle spirit and kind heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
David is survived by his mother, Carolyn Yvonne Helms; his father, Robert Franklin Helms Sr.; his older brother, Robert Franklin Helms Jr., and his wife, Kristine Lilly Helms; and his brother, Christopher Lynn Helms, and his wife, Angela Parks Helms. He was also a beloved uncle to Jessica Helms, Grace Helms, William Helms, Christian Tyler Helms, Cameron Helms, and Addison Helms.
David’s presence will be deeply missed, but the love and warmth he shared will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
There will be a private family service.
