David Alan Roberts, 77
1947-2025

David Alan Roberts, age 77, of Star City, AR passed away on April 22, 2025, at home. He was born on October 6, 1947, in Monticello, AR to the late Franklin Cary Roberts and Lunetta Jean Price Roberts. David was a 1970 graduate of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR. He was in the Army in Vietnam war and served in the National Guard after returning home and retired from BF Goodrich.

David was first and foremost a son, husband, father and brother. He loved his family fiercely and would be there to help if ever called upon. He was generous with his family and willing to give his shirt to a stranger. He was a strong believer in the importance of forgiveness and helping others when you can.

As a youth David admired his Uncles Harry and Howard Roberts that were in the Air Force. He intended to do the same and then found out he was colorblind. He was drafted in the Army and stationed in Germany. He enjoyed exploring Europe.
David never lost his passion for flying and speed. Besides planes he enjoyed the air flying by him when riding motorcycles.

He shared his love of canoeing, cycling, running, backpacking and hiking with his wife, children and closest friends.

As he slowed down slightly with age he rekindled his love of flying with RC model airplane flyers. He found his group of people and a very special friend Wayne Mullican.

Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Paticia Roberts.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Boley Roberts of Star City, AR whom he married on February 14, 1992; son, Carey Roberts and spouse Melissa of Wilkes-Barre, PA; daughter, Meredith Justice and spouse Michael of Birmingham, AL; brother, Phillip Roberts of Cabot, AR; sister, Marjorie Hooper and spouse Paul of Jacksonville, AR and grandchildren, Pierce Hepburn, Elisabeth (Elise) Hepburn, Isaac Hepburn, Nathaniel (Nate) Haines, Matthew Roberts and Ethan Roberts.

When David set his mind to something it became a challenge he was determined to overcome. He is a survivor and will live on in our hearts and love we share with others.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Frazer's Funeral Home. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service.
