Clarence Marvin Launius passed quietly and peacefully into heaven Friday, March 28, 2025. He was born July 27, 1925 according to his mother but recorded by the physician onto his birth certificate, July 28, 1925. He leaves behind his bride of 70 years Jeanette, two sons Damon and Monte (Sonya); grandsons Chad (Lindsey), Jeremy (Kacey), Brent (Megan); great grandchildren Dawson, Bradley, Gunner, Kaitlyn, Keegan, Johnie, Ellis, Jax, Rylee, Presley, and Adalyn; one great-great granddaughter Blair.
He is preceded in death by his parents Sterling and Annie Launius, his siblings Lois, Cecil, Annie Laura, his daughter-in-law Rita and grandson Shane. He also leaves behind a multitude of nieces, nephews, former students, church families, and friends.
Marvin impacted many lives through his ministry in several churches including Hopeville Assembly of God, East Camden Assembly of God, Charleston Assembly, traveled as an Evangelist, Evangelistic Temple of Fordyce, and Ouachita Assembly of God. He was an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God for over 50 years. He was also a teacher for Bearden and Harmony Grove Schools. All of this was following his service in the US Army.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Bethel Cemetery near Bearden with Rev. Damon Launius officiating.
