1955-2024
Bruce Wayne Nicholson, age 69, of Monticello, AR, passed away at home on October 31, 2024. Born January 1, 1955 in Centralia, IL to the late Thomas and Carlyn Nicholson. He was a veteran of the United States Army, was a member of Ark of Faith Church in Monticello where he was a Deacon,and retired from Potlatch after 27 years and retired from UAM College of Technology where he worked for 6 years. He was a loving husband, father, Pap, and Uncle Batman. Although he often pretended to be a curmudgeon, Wayne was blessed with a kind and generous heart, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. This is exemplified by the long list of men, women, and children who considered him a second dad, an additional grandparent, or a great friend.
Wayne was preceded in death by the love of his life, Janie West Nicholson; and daughters, Rikki Jo Nicholson and Vikki Lynn Nicholson.
He is survived by one daughter, Rachel Nicholson Ashcraft and husband Allen; three sons, Brandon Nicholson and wife Jenn, Travis Nicholson and wife Sara, and Michael Nicholson and wife Suezy; granddaughters, Jayden, Allie, Hannah, Katelyn, Jaci, Allison, Mary, Maddie, Ricki, Ava, and Kylie; grandsons, Oliver, Drake and Grayson; as well as all the nieces, nephews, and bonus children he held special in his heart.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, November 10, 2024 at 3:00PM at Ark of Faith in Monticello. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations for final expenses.
