Brian Handley was born on January 24, 1993, in Monticello, AR, to Earnestine Handley and Earnest Handley. Brian completed his education at Highland Community College for his associate degree and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff for his bachelor's degree. Brian was proud to be a member of the football team at both schools. He won the SWAC MEAC Award and made the Dean's List during his time at Pine Bluff.
Brian played football on a professional level in the arena league for the Wyoming Mustangs, Amarillo Venom, and Dodge City Twisters. Brian retired from football and began doing what he loves, which is coaching. Brian coached in Marianna, AR, as the offensive coach, assistant basketball coach, and assistant track coach. Brian was working at George Junior High as the assistant football coach and assistant track coach.
He is survived by his loving fiancée, Mercedes Bates; two sons, Zyion Handley of Conway, AR, and Ryan Handley of Fayetteville, AR; two daughters, Zariyah Handley of Monticello, AR, and Briley Handley of Fayetteville, AR; and his father, Earnest Handley (Lolita) of Monticello, AR. He is also survived by one brother, Mickey West (Autumn) of Fayetteville, AR; and one sister, Patrice Hall (Johnny) of Monticello, AR. Brian leaves behind five nephews: Quen West, Zay West, Melo West, Jalen Hall, and Kai Bates; and four nieces: Saleah West, Ma'Lisa West, Mia Parks, and Tatum Williams.
